The Institute for Immunology and Infectious Disease

The dawn of a new era of medical research

At Murdoch University, we’re committed to establishing the Institute for Immunology and Infectious Diseases to support the work of an outstanding team of researchers led by Professors Simon Mallal and Ian James.

The cost to establish the Institute is $34.5 million, of which:

  • $19.5 million has been committed by the Australian Government
  • $2.3 million has been committed by the West Australian Government Centres of Excellence Program
  • $2.7 million and land for the facility on South Street Campus has been provided by Murdoch University

As the name of the Genesiis Campaign suggests, we’re at the dawn of new era of medical research to combat increasingly virulent diseases worldwide – and the answer is in our genes.

We’re inviting you, (as an individual or an organisation) to learn more about the Institute and become part of Genesiis Campaign to raise the balance of $10 million to secure the Institute’s future.
